Product Information Statement

EasyCarport Product Information & Terms of Sale

Please read this document carefully before placing an order. Finalising your purchase — whether by signing through our online form, paying an invoice, or placing an order — constitutes acceptance of the product information and sale terms outlined below.

Important: This document is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and does not exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies available under the ACL.

1. Product Nature & Application

It is the buyer's responsibility to understand the product's limitations and choose the appropriate model for their site, intended use and local requirements.

Essential DIY Shelter

A non-certified DIY shelter designed for practical vehicle coverage and light-duty use. It is not intended for permanent habitation, high wind zones, coastal locations or structural certification.

  • Non-certified product
  • DIY assembly required
  • Not a building-code-certified structure
  • Must be anchored correctly to a suitable footing

2. Location & Environmental Limitations

Site conditions affect product suitability, corrosion risk, anchoring requirements and warranty coverage.

Coastal Zones

Unless explicitly specified otherwise in writing, standard products are not warranted for use within 10km of marine environments, including breaking surf or calm water, due to corrosive salt spray.

Wind Regions

Buyers must ensure the product purchased is suitable for their local wind region and site conditions. For Engineered Carport Kits, the selected wind rating, such as N2 or N3, must match the project requirements.

3. Installation & Critical Care

Correct installation and installation evidence are essential for product performance and future warranty assessment.

Professional Installation Recommended

We strongly recommend hiring a qualified or competent installer, especially for Engineered Carport Kits and permanent installations.

Swarf Removal Is Critical

Metal shavings from drilling or cutting must be swept off immediately. Failure to remove swarf may cause rust and void warranty coverage for rust caused by residual metal shavings.

Warranty Evidence Required

Clear photos of footings, anchoring and frame connections must be taken during installation. These photos are mandatory for future warranty claims where installation quality is relevant.

4. Anchoring & Foundation

Foundation materials are not included in the kit.

A solid, level foundation, such as a concrete slab or suitable footings, is required. Inadequate anchoring may result in structural failure. The buyer is responsible for ensuring compliance with site-specific anchoring and foundation requirements.

5. Colour, Component & Modification Disclaimer

Colour & Component Variations

Product colours may vary between components. Trims, flashings and ridge capping are supplied in standard colours which may differ from the roof sheet colour. These variations do not affect product performance and are not considered defects.

DIY Shelter Modifications

Any modification to an Essential DIY Shelter is at the buyer's own risk and may void the warranty.

Engineered Carport Kit Modifications

Any unauthorised modification, including changes to height, width, structure or adding walls, may void both the engineering certification and warranty.

6. Damage & Returns

Transport Damage

Transport damage must be reported with photo evidence within 72 hours of delivery. Late notification may affect assessment of a transport damage claim, but does not limit any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Change-of-Mind Returns

Change-of-mind returns are accepted at our discretion within 7 days, subject to item condition, approval, return freight and a 15% restocking fee. We may review individual requests on a case-by-case basis. This does not apply to claims for faulty goods under the Australian Consumer Law.

7. Warranty Summary

All products are covered by the EasyCarport Official Warranty Policy available on our website. The summary below does not replace the full warranty terms.

Essential DIY Shelters

Current Essential DIY Shelters include a 3-year warranty against rust-through perforation and a 1-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.

Warranty remedy is replacement of defective component, material only. Freight, labour, installation and removal costs are excluded.

Historical products previously supplied by Brighten Metals Pty Ltd may be subject to the warranty terms stated on the original invoice or product documentation at the time of purchase.

8. Limitation of Liability & Consumer Rights

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the product purchase price. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

ACL Notice: Nothing in this document excludes, restricts or modifies any rights, guarantees or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

9. Buyer's Acknowledgement

By proceeding with this purchase, the buyer confirms they have read, understood and agreed to the terms outlined in this Product Information & Terms of Sale, specifically acknowledging:

  • The product nature and limitations of Essential DIY Shelters and Engineered Carport Kits
  • The marine and coastal exclusion for standard products within 10km of marine environments unless otherwise specified in writing
  • The buyer's responsibility to confirm wind rating, site suitability, installation and anchoring requirements
  • The non-certified nature of Essential DIY Shelters
  • The requirement to remove swarf immediately after drilling or cutting
