EasyCarport – Product Information & Terms of Sale
Please read this document carefully. Finalising your purchase—whether by signing through our online form, paying an invoice, or placing an order—constitutes full acceptance of the terms outlined below.
1. Product Nature & Application
It is the buyer’s responsibility to understand the product’s limitations and choose the appropriate model:
Essential DIY Shelter (Non-Certified): A non-certified, temporary shelter designed for light-duty use. Not intended for permanent habitation, high wind zones, or coastal locations. This product does not comply with building code certification.
Engineer-Certified Carport: A fully certified structural product designed by a registered engineer. Must be installed strictly according to the specific wind rating (e.g., N2, N3, C1) and engineering documents.
2. Location & Environmental Limitations (Important)
Coastal Zones: Unless explicitly specified otherwise in writing, standard products are not warranted for use within 10km of marine environments (breaking surf or calm water) due to corrosive salt spray.
Wind Regions: Buyers must ensure the product purchased is suitable for their local wind region.
3. Installation & Critical Care
Installation Competence: While our products are designed for DIY assembly, they require a competent level of handyman skills. If you are inexperienced with construction or tools, we recommend hiring a qualified installer.
Council Approval (For Certified Carports): You may install the Carport yourself (DIY) or hire a professional. Important: As the installer, you are responsible for ensuring the assembly strictly matches the engineering drawings to obtain final council certification. The supplier is not liable if the installation fails inspection due to poor workmanship or deviation from the plans.
Swarf Removal (Critical): Metal shavings (swarf) from drilling or cutting must be swept off immediately. Failure to remove swarf will cause rust and void the warranty.
Warranty Evidence: You must take clear photos of your footings, anchoring, and frame connection during installation. These photos are mandatory for any future warranty claims.
4. Anchoring & Foundation
A solid, level foundation (e.g., concrete slab or footings) is required. Foundation materials are not included in the kit.
Warning: Inadequate anchoring will result in structural failure. The buyer is solely responsible for ensuring compliance with site-specific anchoring requirements.
5. Colour & Component Disclaimer
Variations: Product colours and component styles (e.g., trims, flashings) may vary slightly due to manufacturing batches. These variations do not affect performance and are not considered defects.
6. Modification Disclaimer
DIY Shelter: Modifications are at the buyer’s own risk and will void the warranty.
Certified Carport: Any unauthorised modification (e.g., changing height/width, adding walls) will void both the engineering certification and the warranty.
7. Damage & Returns
Transport Damage: Must be reported with photo evidence within 72 hours of delivery.
Returns: Change-of-mind returns are accepted at our discretion within 7 days, subject to a 15% restocking fee. Return freight is the buyer’s responsibility.
8. Warranty Summary
All products are covered by the EasyCarport Official Warranty Policy (available on our website).
Coverage: 2-Year or 3-Year Perforation Warranty for Shelters; up to 15-Year Structural Warranty for Carports (Pro-rata).
Parts Only: The warranty covers the replacement of parts only. Freight, labour, and installation costs are excluded.
9. Limitation of Liability & Consumer Rights
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the product purchase price. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
ACL Notice: Nothing in this document excludes any rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
10. Buyer’s Acknowledgement
By proceeding with this purchase, the buyer expressly confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these terms, including (without limitation) the marine/coastal exclusions, DIY certification responsibilities, and the non-certified nature of Essential DIY Shelters.
