EasyCarport – Comprehensive Warranty Terms

1. Scope & Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Notice

This Warranty applies to the original purchaser of EasyCarport Essential DIY Shelters and Engineer-Certified Carports supplied by Brighten Metals Pty Ltd.

This Warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and does not exclude, restrict, or modify any rights or remedies available under the ACL.

Australian Consumer Law Statement

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.


2. Product Warranty Coverage

2.1 Essential DIY Shelters (Non-Certified)

Wrapped Roof Model

  • 2-Year Limited Warranty against rust perforation (rust-through only)

Vertical Roof Model

  • 3-Year Limited Warranty against rust perforation (rust-through only)

Manufacturer’s Warranty

  • 1-Year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship

Remedy

  • Where a valid claim is accepted, Brighten Metals Pty Ltd will provide 100% replacement of the defective component (material only).

  • Freight, labour, installation, and removal costs are excluded.


2.2 Engineer-Certified Carports

Structural Warranty

  • Up to 15 Years on the steel framework (as specified for the product)

Roof Panel Warranty

  • 3-Year Limited Warranty against rust perforation (rust-through only)

Structural Coverage Value Schedule

  • Years 1–5: 100% coverage

  • Years 6–15: Coverage reduces by 10% per year (pro-rata)

Remedy

  • Replacement of the defective component in accordance with the coverage value schedule above.

  • Freight, labour, installation, and removal costs are excluded.


3. Installation & Use Requirements

Failure to comply with the following requirements will void this Warranty.

Engineer-Certified Carports

  • Must be installed by a competent person

  • Installation must strictly follow:

    • Supplied engineering drawings

    • Installation manual

    • Certified wind region rating

  • Foundations and anchoring must comply with engineering specifications

Essential DIY Shelters

  • Must be assembled strictly in accordance with the installation manual

  • Must be adequately anchored to a suitable footing

  • Not designed or warranted for:

    • Permanent habitation

    • Structural certification

Swarf Removal (Critical Requirement)

All metal shavings (swarf) generated during drilling, cutting, or installation must be fully removed immediately.
Rust caused by residual swarf is not covered under this Warranty.


4. General Exclusions

This Warranty does not cover damage, defects, or failure arising from:

Misuse & Accidents

  • Vandalism, accidental damage, or vehicle impact

  • Modification, alteration, or unauthorised repairs

  • Failure to perform routine cleaning and maintenance

Installation Issues

  • Incorrect or non-compliant installation

  • Foundation or footing failure

  • Failure to follow installation manuals or engineering documents

Environmental Conditions

  • Installation within 10 km of marine environments (breaking surf or calm water)

  • Exposure to corrosive chemicals, industrial fallout, or aggressive environments

Weather & Natural Events

  • Cyclones, floods, bushfires, storms, or extreme weather

  • Wind conditions exceeding the product’s certified design limits

Wear & Tear

  • Minor surface corrosion

  • Paint fading, chalking, cosmetic marks, or dents not affecting structural integrity

Excluded Costs & Losses

  • Freight, transport, or handling costs

  • Third-party labour or installation costs

  • Consequential or indirect loss (including downtime or loss of use)


5. Warranty Claims Process

To make a valid Warranty claim, you must notify Brighten Metals Pty Ltd by email within 14 days of the defect first becoming apparent.

Required Evidence

  • Proof of Purchase (Tax Invoice)

  • Clear photos of the defect (including close-up images)

  • Proof of correct installation, including a minimum of five (5) clear photos showing:

    • Foundations and footings

    • Anchoring methods

    • Key structural connections

    • Overall installed structure

Important
Failure to provide satisfactory evidence of correct installation and anchoring may result in claim rejection where the defect is attributable to installation error.

Inspection & Further Evidence

Brighten Metals Pty Ltd reserves the right to:

  • Inspect the product on-site, or

  • Request additional evidence where reasonably required to assess and determine the validity of a claim.


6. Governing Law

This Warranty is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland, Australia.
